Our History

Mason Real Estate Limited was incorporated in 1973 after John Mason ran the brokerage as a sole proprietor since 1970. The company had salespeople selling residential real estate until gradually transitioning to commercial real estate in the 1980’s and then property and asset management. You can check out a couple newspaper ads from 1972 below. How times and prices have changed!
Our first office was located next to St. George’s Church on Woolwich Street, then relocated in 1973 across the street into the second floor of Guelph lawyer Angus Dunbar’s building at 30-32 Douglas. On Mr. Dunbar’s retirement in 1983 he sold the building to John and his wife Marlene, and in 1997 Mason Real Estate moved from the second floor to the ground floor where we remain today.
